What is an Izakaya?
In Japan, Izakaya-style restaurants are casual places where hard working people go to drink and eat after work. At an izakaya, you can find many small dishes to sample while drinking cold beer or sake. This allows you to try a variety of tastes without filling up on one dish.
Think of it as Japanese pub food.
